These SMS Terms govern text messaging through services provided by Develop Digital Media, LLC doing business as Service Anchor (“Service Anchor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to messages we send directly, and to messages sent by businesses that use the Service Anchor platform (the “Platform”) to communicate with their own customers.
These SMS Terms apply whenever text messages are sent to you through the Platform. Receiving texts is optional and is never required to get service; how consent is asked and confirmed is described in section 7.
1. Who sends the messages
Service Anchor is a software platform used by home service businesses, including junk removal, hauling and cleanout, dumpster rental, moving, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, tree service, and HVAC. Two kinds of SMS may reach you through the Platform.
(a) Messages from a business that uses Service Anchor. When you book a service or share your phone number with one of these businesses, the messages you receive are sent by that business through the Platform. Depending on where the business is in its carrier registration, those messages come from one of two kinds of numbers. While a business is getting started on Service Anchor (for example, during its trial), messages are sent from a phone number in Service Anchor’s managed number pool. Pool numbers belong to Develop Digital Media, LLC d/b/a Service Anchor and operate under Service Anchor’s own brand registration with The Campaign Registry, and every message sent from them identifies the business by name (for example, “Big Dog Junk Removal via Service Anchor:”). Once a business completes its own A2P 10DLC registration with The Campaign Registry, its messages are sent from a phone number registered to that business under its own brand. In both cases, the business is responsible for the content of the messages it sends. Service Anchor operates the registrations and delivers the messages but does not control the content of individual messages.
(b) Messages from Service Anchor directly. If you sign up for Service Anchor as a business owner, request early access, or otherwise interact with us directly, we may send you account-related and product-related SMS from a phone number registered to Service Anchor.
In both cases, SMS is delivered through Twilio, Inc., our SMS subprocessor.
For business users connecting SMS through the Platform, mobile carriers require us to register your business Tax Identifier (EIN, or SSN for sole proprietors without an EIN) with The Campaign Registry. That identifier is forwarded to Twilio for the registration and is not retained by Service Anchor in its full form. We retain only the last four digits and an opaque Twilio reference identifier. See our Privacy Policy at getserviceanchor.com/privacy-policy for the full description.
2. What messages you may receive
When a business uses Service Anchor to communicate with you, you may receive:
- Appointment confirmations and reminders
- “On the way” notifications when a technician is en route
- Job status updates
- Invoice delivery and payment reminders
- Service completion confirmations
- A one-time request for feedback or a review after your completed job
If you sign up for Service Anchor as a business owner, you may also receive:
- Account verification and login codes
- Billing and subscription notifications
- Product updates relevant to your account
Message frequency varies. A typical service booking generates 1 to 10 messages.
3. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier. Service Anchor does not charge you for SMS messages, but your carrier may charge you for sending or receiving texts.
4. How to stop receiving messages
You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out, after which SMS to your number from the same sender will stop.
Opt-out requests are honored platform-wide. Once your number replies STOP to a message sent through Service Anchor, future messages to that number from the same sending brand are blocked across all campaigns on that brand, regardless of which business or use case the message belonged to.
For help, reply HELP to any message. You can also contact the business directly, or contact Service Anchor at support@getserviceanchor.com.
5. Supported carriers
SMS through the Platform is supported by all major US carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are not sold. Phone numbers and message content are processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy at getserviceanchor.com/privacy-policy.
When a business that uses Service Anchor sends you SMS, that business is the controller of your information. Service Anchor processes your phone number and message data on the business’s behalf to deliver the message. To exercise privacy rights related to messages from a business, contact that business directly. For privacy rights relating to Service Anchor’s own processing, email privacy@getserviceanchor.com.
7. Consent
Businesses that use Service Anchor ask their customers for permission before sending text updates through the Platform. Agreeing to receive texts is optional. It is never a condition of getting a quote, booking a job, or purchasing any product or service; you receive the same service either way. If you agree, the first message you receive includes a written confirmation that you are subscribed to job updates, along with opt-out instructions. How businesses ask, and the exact confirmation message, is published at getserviceanchor.com/sms-consent.
If you provide your mobile phone number to Service Anchor directly (for example, when signing up as a business owner), you choose whether to receive SMS through an optional checkbox at signup. The checkbox is unchecked by default, and signup completes whether or not you check it.
You may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to any message.
8. Updates to these Terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page at least 30 days before they take effect.
